• Learning analytics, progress data, or performance metrics
• Chat messages, Q&A conversations, or voice data
• Photos, videos, or geolocation data
• Persistent identifiers used for behavioral advertising

The only information Readify collects through our cloud service is:

• Account credentials — For school administrator and teacher accounts only. Student accounts are created and managed locally by the school.
• Subscription and billing data — For the purchasing adult (parent, teacher, or administrator). Never from children directly.
• Anonymized, aggregate usage statistics — Feature usage counts that cannot be linked to individual children.

3. Parental Consent

3.1 Direct Consumer Use

When a parent or guardian creates a Readify account for a child under 13:

• The parent must create and manage the account themselves
• Verifiable parental consent is obtained before any account-level data is collected
• The parent retains full control over the account and may review, modify, or delete any information at any time
• The child's use of the AI features happens entirely on the local device, with no data transmitted to Readify

3.2 School Use — School as Agent

When a school deploys Readify in a classroom setting:

• The school acts as the parent's agent under COPPA and provides consent for educational use
• The school is responsible for notifying parents about the use of Readify and the types of information involved
• Because Readify processes all student data locally on the school's hardware, the school maintains direct custody of all student information
• No student data is transmitted to Readify or any third party, making the school's COPPA obligations significantly simpler
• Schools may request information about our data practices at any time

4. Specific Compliance Measures

• No behavioral advertising or tracking: Readify does not serve advertisements of any kind. We do not use cookies or persistent identifiers to track children across websites or build advertising profiles.
• No third-party data sharing: We do not share, sell, or rent children's personal information to third parties for any purpose, including marketing.
• Local AI eliminates cloud data risk: All AI models (language models, image generation, reading analysis) run on local hardware. There is no API call to an external AI service that could expose student data.
• Minimal data collection principle: We collect only the information strictly necessary to operate the subscription service. Student-facing features require zero cloud data collection.
• Age-gating: Account creation requires the user to confirm they are 13 or older, or that an account is being created by a parent or school administrator on behalf of a child.
• Data deletion on request: Parents or schools can request deletion of any account-level data at any time by contacting us. Since student content is stored locally, deletion of local data is managed directly by the parent or school.
• No social features requiring personal information: Readify's educational features do not include social networking, public profiles, comment sections, or other features that could expose children's information.
• Encrypted communications: All communication between the user's browser and Readify's web servers is encrypted via TLS/SSL.

Readify's local-first architecture provides a structural safe harbor for COPPA compliance. Because the AI processes children's educational content on local hardware without transmitting it to external servers, the core COPPA concern — the collection of children's personal information by online services — is architecturally eliminated rather than merely contractually mitigated.
